QC Checks for Building Modeling

Does anyone know where I can find a list of QC checks for building modelling? Although I review my models, I would love to get my hands on a list of checks that some expert uses.

What kind of list are you looking for. Sure, everytime you simulate a model, QC returns a list of errors and warnings (hopefully it just returns warnings) but I guess I'm not sure what you mean.

Re: QC Checks for Building Modeling

From my perpective the main reason to do the QC check is to make sure that the project will simulate. Errors must be fixed to run a simulation however fixing the warnings is optional. The warnings seem to be deviations from the default values. I always like to look through the warnings because one of the items that I always get a lot of are missing schedules some are important some are not. Other warnings that I see a lot of are wrong wall types, which I always fix, and missing fans or incorrectly sized equipment. As far as incorrectly sized equipment is concerned, I would never want to rely on Mkt Mgr to size everything. Mkt Mgr is at it's best when it is comparing scenarios.

Re: QC Checks for Building Modeling

I think he is looking for QC checks in general, ie.
lighting should be 0.7 to 2 W/SQFT, Chiller tons per square foot should be...etc.
We are adding some rules of thumb to this website very soon.
They might help.
